American Dick
A friend from work is putting together a musical starring Dick Cheney. He asked if I would work up some cover art to tag his promotional material etc. Directly below is the final image we came up with together. It might eventually see some color, but for now he wanted it in black and white. Cheaper to reproduce with him just getting started. His current (personal) site at the moment is www.pornado.org. Not to sure where and how he plans on sharing this exactly but I'll keep you posted.
Below are a couple of pencil sketches I did over the initial Illustrator file to get a feel for the direction. I was a fan of the flag, but judging by how the final came out. I'm glad we went the other direction.

Screens 'N' Suds Pictures
Screens 'N' Suds last weekend was a total success, at least I would like to think so. I sold enough to not go in the hole and had a fair amount of people show up to support me. I have a handful of pictures from the event which you can check out on my facebook page. Ric Hersh also added some pictures of the event to the Screens 'N' Suds page on facebook.

3 Things
So I've been behind on updating my blog the past week, but if you follow me on facebook you've at least seen what new things I've been up to. Above are three screen prints that were done over the past week at Crazy Horse Studio. I printed up tickets for Screens 'N' Suds which are for purchase on through their site at www.screensnsuds.com. Then there the "Starbot" piece I did in red for a poster I will be selling at Screens 'N' Suds. You can also check out more pictures of these on my facebook account here.
Then of course is my donation poster "Beer" which will be at the Screens'N'Suds event on November 7th, 2009 @ Capital Ale House in Richmond VA. To see more pictures of me printing the poster also check out my facebook account here.

What is this?
Can someone help us identify this fruit? It's from a tall, skinny tree in our backyard and we just want to make sure that it's safe for our pups if they get into it.

Starbot
I forgot to post this from the weekend. I drew this guy up while sitting on the curb at Art Under Foot. People walking by liked it, so I figured I'd go ahead and work it up into a piece to be screen printed.

...plus one Squid!
Okay, so here you can see where my idea is going. This is for a screen printed poster I'm doing for Screens 'N' Suds. I've attached the instructions I was given below.
- The prints are supposed to be inspired by fictitious beer. An 'advertisement" if you will, for your beer. That doesn't meen it has to have your name on it or anything, but I encourage you to go wild.
- We are hoping to have prints in hand by Oct 26th. As the Screens 'N' Suds show will be on Saturday, November 7th. I will get the exact address to send the prints to in the next week or so.
- We ask for 15 copies of your print, which will be sold at the show (and afterward, if any remain). The proceeds from those copies will go to Young Audiences of Virgina, and the local chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Proud to be Greek
This was a quick and simple design I did a week back for Inter-Sorority Council (ISC). Nothing to hard to set up etc. Mainly posting it because the client liked the art so much, they decided to use my design over another companies. Yes, it is making my head swell.

Logo Design: Crazy Horse Studio
Here is the final logo I came up with for Crazy Horse Studio. With it being so horizontal, I'll more then like hit a snag in the road when I need to use it on something skinny. I'll either end up coming up with a vertical version of it or just rotate the design to be printed at 90 degrees.

Logo Design: Crazy Horse Sketch
Working on setting up a clean and clear logo for the screen printing shop where I work during the day. Here is the initial sketch I did in pencil. You can come check out the shop's site but It's not of the highest quality. Hopefully I'll get a chance in the future to work on it. www.CrazyHorseStudio.com

News: Send off Application
Sent in an application today for the 2nd Annual Design Marathon. It's a local event where you join a team and give up twelve hours of a day to pro-bono design work. It's to help out ten local non-profits with their image etc. I guess we will just wait and see if they want me or not. If not still sounds cool and you should check it out. designmarathon.wordpress.com

Holy Jebus... I just got an email to my work account for a subscription renewal to clipart dot com. I can't believe the previous designer would spend this on clipart each year. I guess that's the benefit of being able to draw.

Illustration: Funk Bunch
This is a compiliation of drawings my friend Randall Jordan and I would do in the 6th & 7th grade ('93-'95). We were easily amused by drawing pranks, jokes, fellow classmates, and teachers doing stupid things. We would trade off the drawing between classes to see what the other person had added. Then try to one up each other by coming up with something funnier. The best part was, nobody knew we were really drawing them. Even though people always wanted to look at it and giggle and call us weird.
